CREATE

CREATE is the Community Renewable Energy Alliance of Towns and Enterprises. We are an alliance of community renewable energy project groups located in regional and urban Western Australia that are:

• community-led or driven; and
• share the dual intentions of (1) addressing carbon emissions through transitioning to local renewable energy ; and (2) incorporating mechanisms through which the community shares in the wealth/ benefits created through participation in local energy markets.

We anticipate also include community groups who fit the above description but are yet to commence a project, as well as advocacy organisations who share a commitment to the above aspirations.

Our aim is to create a collective voice to advocate for community renewable energy in regional and urban Western Australia. CREATE member groups share information, experience and expertise in order that the vision of a just and equitable transition to renewable energy occurs more quickly in Western Australia. We seek to work with like-minded organizations and government to streamline the pathways and processes through which community energy and energy self-sufficiency is brought to the people of Western Australia, whether rural, regional or urban, according to their needs and purposes.
